Effect of ferromagnetic proximity on critical behavior
نویسندگان
چکیده
We have investigated the magnetic phase transition in amorphous Fe93Zr7(x Å)/Co95Zr5(1 Å) multilayers, where x = 25, 50, and 75. The extremely thin CoZr layer induces magnetic order at temperatures well above the inherent ordering temperature of Fe93Zr7. The changes in the critical exponent β, associated with the temperature dependence of themagnetization, imply a crossover from twoto three-dimensional behavior as the FeZr thickness is reduced, consistent with a substantial magnetic induction in the FeZr layers. In addition we determined the exponents δ and γ , of the critical isotherm and the susceptibility, respectively, and their values confirm the nonuniversal character of the phase transition. Scaling of the results yields an excellent data collapse and is found to hold in the crossover regime where the universality hypothesis is not applicable.

Magnetic Stability of Functionally Graded Soft Ferromagnetic Porous Rectangular Plate
This study presents critical buckling of functionally graded soft ferromagnetic porous (FGFP) rectangular plates, under magnetic field with simply supported boundary condition. Equilibrium and stability equations of a porous rectangular plate in transverse magnetic field are derived. The geometrical nonlinearities are considered in the Love-Kirchhoff hypothesis sense. The formulations are compa...
متن کاملProximity Effects in Superconductor-ferromagnet Heterostructures
The very special characteristic of the proximity effect in superconductor-ferromagnet systems is the damped oscillatory behavior of the Cooper pair wave function in a ferromagnet. In some sense, this is analogous to the inhomogeneous superconductivity, predicted long time ago by Larkin and Ovchinnikov (1964), and Fulde and Ferrell (1964), and constantly searched since that. After the qualitativ...
متن کاملdescription of the ferromagnetic π - junctions near the critical temperature
Theoretical description of the ferromagnetic π-junctions near the critical temperature Abstract The theory of ferromagnetic π-junction near the critical temperature is presented. It is demonstrated that in the dirty limit the modified Usadel equation adequately describes the proximity effect in ferromagnets. To provide the description of an experimentally relevant situation, oscillations of the...
متن کاملStimulation of a Singlet Superconductivity in SFS Weak Links by Spin–Exchange Scattering of Cooper Pairs
Josephson junctions with a ferromagnetic metal weak link reveal a very strong decrease of the critical current compared to a normal metal weak link. We demonstrate that in the ballistic regime the presence of a small region with a non-collinear magnetization near the center of a ferromagnetic weak link restores the critical current inherent to the normal metal. The above effect can be stimulate...
متن کاملProximity Effects in Ferromagnet/Superconductor Heterostructures
We review the present status of the experimental and theoretical research on the proximity effect in heterostructures composed of superconducting (S) and ferromagnetic (F) thin films. First, we discuss traditional effects originating from the oscillatory behavior of the superconducting pair wave function in the F-layer. Then, we concentrate on recent theoretical predictions for S/F layer system...
